Three vendors publish Singapore plans we could read: Xero from S$42 a month, QuickBooks Online in four tiers by user count, and Zoho Books from a free plan. We list only what each says, and we do not rank them.
This guide is independent and none of these vendors has paid for a place here. Prices change, so check the vendor page the day you buy.
What do the vendors publish?
Read on each vendor's Singapore page:
| Vendor | Plans and prices | Limits and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Xero | Starter S$42 a month; Standard S$77; Premium S$99 | Starter: 20 invoices and 5 bills a month. Standard: unlimited. Premium adds multi-currency. New customers get 80% off for 3 months |
| QuickBooks Online | Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, Advanced | 1, 3, 5 and 25 users. 30-day free trial. Prices load live and were not readable to us |
| Zoho Books | Free S$0; Standard S$18; Professional S$36 | Standard: 3 users, 5,000 invoices a year. Professional: 5 users, 10,000 invoices a year. Annual billing is S$15 and S$30 a month |
Xero's page shows a plain dollar sign. We read it as Singapore dollars because it is the Singapore page, but confirm at checkout. All Xero plans include invoices and quotes, bill automation, bank reconciliation and reporting, with extra paid add-ons for expense tracking and projects.
Which software does IMDA list for InvoiceNow?
InvoiceNow is Singapore's e-invoicing network. IMDA's InvoiceNow-Ready Solution Provider list, updated , includes Xero, QuickBooks used with LinkFor, ABSS, TallyPrime and Zeemart, among others. The list is the place to check if a customer or the government asks for InvoiceNow. Whether your company must connect is a separate question, and IRAS and IMDA set the rules.
How do you choose?
Start from facts you already have:
- Invoice volume. Xero's Starter caps invoices and bills. Zoho's plans cap invoices a year.
- Users. QuickBooks sets users by plan, from 1 to 25.
- Currencies. Xero lists multi-currency under Premium. If you hold a multi-currency account, check how each tool handles foreign transactions.
- GST. If you will register above S$1 million of taxable turnover, check that the tool produces the GST return data. See GST filing.
- Your accountant. Ask which tool they work in. Switching later costs time.
What do vendors not say on these pages?
- Whether each plan covers GST filing, payroll or CPF, beyond the short feature lists above.
- The cost of adding users or invoices beyond a plan's limit.
- Any Singapore-specific accountant or bank-feed list.
Some providers bundle software with a service. Osome and Sleek include their own tools, so see Osome and Sleek for what they publish.
Do you still need an accountant if you use software?
Software records the numbers. It does not prepare ACRA financial statements, the tax computation or the IRAS return unless a person or a service does that. ACRA says directors must keep proper accounting records for at least five years, whatever tool holds them. Our small business accounting guide shows the duties, and the outsourcing guide shows how firms scope the work.
If you would rather hand off the books, use the quote form on the accounting services page.
What should you test before you commit?
Use the free trial or the discounted first months to run a real month of your books. Import your bank statement, create five invoices, reconcile, and export a report your accountant can read. Cancel on time if it does not fit: Xero says subscriptions renew monthly with one month's notice, while annual billing at Zoho locks in the cheaper rate for the year.
Record who has admin rights, and export your data once a quarter. If you change tools or accountants, you will want your own copy.
