What is Bizfile in Singapore?

ACRA describes Bizfile as its digital service portal for business registration, filing and information. If you own or direct a Singapore company, nearly every contact you have with the registry happens there.

The current version of the portal went live on . Guides and screenshots written for the older service can look different, so check that any walkthrough you follow mentions the new portal.

From Bizfile you can:

  • buy business information, such as a Business Profile
  • register a new company, business or other entity, or register as a professional
  • manage an existing registration
  • file annual returns and annual declarations
  • report changes, for example a new director or a changed business activity

For background on the regulator behind it, see what ACRA does.

What does Bizfile cost?

Bizfile itself has no subscription. You pay per service. These are the fees ACRA publishes for the tasks most people use.

Task on Bizfile Fee
Search an entity, industry, person or reserved name Free
Register a local company S$300
Business Profile S$5.50
Corporate Compliance and Financial Profile S$50
People Profile S$33
Extracts, certificates, registers from S$11 each

Payment is by credit card, debit card or online banking. ACRA states there are no refunds for incorrect Business Profile purchases, so confirm the entity name and UEN before checkout. Details on each product are in the business profile guide.

How do you log in to Bizfile?

Individuals use Singpass, Singapore's national digital identity. To act for a company, your access is tied to the entity through Corppass, which lets the company decide who may use government e-services on its behalf. The Corppass guide walks through setting up an admin.

Foreign directors who do not hold a Singpass face a harder start. Many hand the filing to a corporate service provider that is registered with ACRA. That is optional, and you can still file yourself once your access is in place.

What can you search for free on Bizfile?

Four searches work without logging in:

  1. Entity search. Finds ACRA-registered and other entities by name or UEN, shows whether each is live and gives the registered address. It also tells you whether an entity is a registered corporate service provider.
  2. Industry search. Lists live businesses by SSIC code or keyword, up to 250 results. Our SSIC code guide explains the codes.
  3. People search. Shows a person's involvement in business entities, and whether someone is a public accountant or registered qualified individual.
  4. Reserved name search. Shows whether a name is already reserved. When you reserve a name it is held for 120 days.

When searching by identity number, pick the UEN filter, including previous UEN, to avoid false matches. The UEN search guide covers the format and what appears on screen.

What is the free business profile on Bizfile?

After certain filings, ACRA sends a Business Profile into your Bizfile inbox at no charge. This covers a newly registered business, and existing entities after a renewal, Annual Return or Annual Declaration. The profile arrives within 15 minutes of a successful filing, and you can download it for 60 days after the notice. ACRA made this simpler on : you now download it straight from the attachment. Only the person who filed can download it.

What should you do before you file on Bizfile?

A few habits save rework:

  • Have your UEN ready. A new company gets one when registration is approved.
  • Check who the company's Registered Officer is, because they approve Corppass access.
  • Reserve a name before registering. Only the person who reserved the name can register the company.
  • Report changes on time. Business activity changes are due within 14 days.
  • Use the free search to confirm the other party's details before you sign anything.

If the portal rejects a submission, read the error message first and check whether an endorsement from a director is still pending.

Should you use a provider instead of filing on Bizfile yourself?

It depends on the task. Searches and downloading your free profile are quick to do alone. Incorporation, ongoing secretary duties and annual filings are where owners often pay a corporate service provider. This guide is independent. We are not ACRA and do not run Bizfile. If you want a provider to take over the filing, use the quote form on this page and we will pass the request to suitable firms. Some of them may pay us a referral fee.
