Best business bank account in Singapore

There is no best business bank account for every Singapore company. The right one depends on who owns the firm, how you pay, and what balance you hold. Here are the published facts side by side.

Business owner opening an account with a bank officer in Singapore

No bank wins for every company, so this page does not rank them. It lines up what each one publishes, for one date, and leaves the choice to you. If a bank publishes nothing on a point, the table says so.

SingaporeCompanySetupGuide.com is an independent guide, and none of these banks is a partner we have verified here. We pass quote requests to providers we think suit you, and some pay us a referral fee.

How do the published figures compare?

Figures are from each provider's own page, read . "Not published" means we did not find it on the pages read.

Account Opening deposit Monthly cost Balance target Route
DBS Business Digital S$1,000 S$18 None Online for citizen or PR owned companies
DBS Multi-Currency Pages differ S$40 service charge if under target S$10,000 average daily Online for citizen or PR owned companies

Two rows deserve a caution. DBS's own pages disagree on the Multi-Currency deposit and fall-below fee, and our DBS page shows both. UOB's S$15 is a fall-below fee, not a flat monthly fee.

What should decide the choice?

Four things matter more than a headline fee.

  1. Who owns the company. Instant online routes at DBS and OCBC are written for citizen or permanent resident owners. Foreign owners should read how to open an account without visiting Singapore.
  2. How you pay and get paid. Mostly Singapore dollars and FAST or GIRO: a local bank fits. Many foreign payments: read the multi-currency guide.
  3. The balance you will hold. Targets such as S$5,000 or S$10,000 are a cost if your average sits below them.
  4. What you need around the account. Cards, payroll, trade finance and a human contact are not equal across providers.

Which accounts publish the least?

Standard Chartered, HSBC and Citibank published no opening deposit or monthly cost on the pages we read. That is not a mark against them. Larger banks often price by relationship. It means you must ask, and you should write down what you are told.

Are the digital accounts safe to use?

Each provider says how it holds customer money, and the terms differ. ANEXT calls itself a MAS-regulated digital wholesale bank. Read the safeguarding section of every provider and check the MAS financial institutions directory yourself. Our provider pages summarise what each one says, without a verdict.

How do you build your own shortlist?

Write down your owners' residency, your monthly transfers in and out, your main currencies and the cash you will hold. Then pick two accounts from the table that fit all four, read their terms and ask each for the fee schedule.

Questions people ask

Which is the best business bank account in Singapore for a startup?

It depends on your owners and payments. Accounts with the lowest published entry cost are CIMB (S$0 deposit), ANEXT (S$0 to open), Aspire (S$0) and Statrys (no monthly fee). Local banks suit owners who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents and want online opening.

Which Singapore business bank account has no minimum balance?

CIMB lists S$0 minimum balance on its SME Account. DBS lists none on the Business Digital Account, ANEXT and Aspire list none, and Maybank lists no monthly fee on FlexiBiz. UOB and DBS Multi-Currency set a balance target.

Which bank is cheapest for a Singapore company?

The published monthly costs range from none to S$18 on DBS Business Digital. A cheap account can cost more through transfer and FX fees. Add up the payments you expect, then compare the published fee for each.

Can a foreign owner use these accounts for a Singapore company?

Yes in many cases, but routes differ. OCBC publishes a remote route for foreign-owned companies. DBS and UOB online routes are written for citizens or permanent residents. Digital providers say they serve foreign owners, with their own conditions.

Are digital accounts like Aspire and Airwallex banks?

Not all are. ANEXT describes itself as a MAS-regulated digital wholesale bank. Others offer accounts through partners or as payment services, so protections differ. Read each provider's own statement on how funds are held.

Do I need a multi-currency business account?

Only if you receive or pay in foreign currency often. If you invoice in Singapore dollars, a local account is enough. Our multi-currency page compares what DBS, OCBC and the digital providers publish.
