Registering a company in Singapore costs S$315 at ACRA, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority. That is S$15 to apply for the name and S$300 to register the company. Checked . This page lists the ACRA fee for each step so you can tell government charges from provider charges.
What does ACRA charge to register a company?
| ACRA step | Fee |
|---|---|
| Apply for a new business entity name | S$15 |
| Register the new business entity | S$300 |
| Total | S$315 |
You pay the name fee when you apply for the name. You pay the registration fee at the end of the Bizfile filing. Both go through ACRA by credit card, debit card or online banking. If you want the full cost with a provider, the page on company formation cost covers it. This page stays with the government side.
Can you get the S$15 back?
No. ACRA says the name fee is not refunded when the name is unavailable or when you withdraw the application. Once a name is approved, the transaction number is valid for 120 days. You must register within that time or the name goes back to the pool. Search the name first with the steps in company name availability.
What does ACRA charge after registration?
Registration is not the only charge in the first year. The fee table has these common items.
| Filing | Fee |
|---|---|
| File the annual return | S$60 |
| Extension of time to file accounts or hold an AGM | S$200 |
| Exemption from financial statement requirements | S$200 |
| Convert the company type | S$40 |
| File a notice of error | S$60 |
| Register a new charge | S$60 |
| ACRA-directed name change | S$200 |
Updating an officer or the company address does not appear in this table as a paid filing for most cases. See change registered address for how that works.
Is the fee the same for other structures?
No. The fee depends on the structure you register.
| Structure | ACRA fee |
|---|---|
| Local company | S$300 plus S$15 name |
| Sole proprietorship or partnership, one year | S$100 plus S$15 name, S$115 |
| LLP | S$100 plus S$15 name |
| Foreign company branch, one year | S$300 |
A branch must be filed by a corporate service provider. Read branch vs subsidiary before you pick one. For the differences between a company and the smaller structures, see Pte Ltd vs sole proprietorship vs LLP.
What is not an ACRA fee?
A lot of the price you see on provider pages is not set by ACRA. These are provider charges, and each provider sets its own.
- The professional fee for preparing and filing the application.
- A registered office address, if you do not have one.
- A resident director, if you have no local resident for the role.
- A company secretary, who you must appoint within six months.
- Accounting, tax filing and audit.
ACRA does not publish any of these. Ask a provider to show them as separate lines so you can compare two quotes on the same basis. When a quote says "S$315 included", check that it also names each of the items above.
Does a corporate service provider change the ACRA fee?
No. The ACRA charge is the same. The provider adds its own fee for the work. Foreigners must use a provider to reserve the name and register, so for them the provider fee is not optional. A local resident can file alone through Bizfile and pay only the S$315.
Would you rather compare provider quotes? Use the form on this page and a suitable provider will contact you. This is an independent guide, not ACRA, and a provider may pay us for the introduction.
