Productivity Solutions Grant in Singapore

The Productivity Solutions Grant stopped taking applications on 29 September. Digital solutions are now funded through the EDGE Grant, which allows up to S$30,000 for them inside a S$100,000 yearly company cap.

PSG is closed. Enterprise Singapore's page for the Productivity Solutions Grant says it closed on and was replaced by the EDGE Grant, open from 30 September. We read it on . The practical result: a small business that wants support for accounting software, a booking system or similar IT now applies under EDGE.

Is the Productivity Solutions Grant still open?

No. Existing submissions and projects keep going. New ones do not start under PSG. If an article tells you to "apply for PSG today" without mentioning EDGE, it is out of date.

What did PSG pay?

Here are the old terms, kept so you can read an existing Letter of Offer.

Item Old PSG rule
Support Up to 50% of eligible costs for local SMEs
Maximum award S$30,000
Local ownership At least 30% Singapore citizens or permanent residents
Size test Group sales up to S$100 million, or up to 200 workers
Use Solutions used within Singapore
Vendor payments None before the application was submitted
Processing About 6 weeks
Payout PayNow Corporate (14 working days) or GIRO (up to 8 weeks)

Excluded entities included charities, IPCs, religious bodies, VWOs, government agencies and societies.

Where does digital funding sit now?

Under EDGE, Enterprise Singapore says each company has a cap of S$100,000 a year for all eligible activities, and within that cap it can use up to S$30,000 on single-function digital solutions, integrated enterprise systems and pre-scoped equipment. Digital activities run through the IMDA SMEs Go Digital platform. The cap resets each 1 April.

Support rates under EDGE depend on the activity. Enterprise Singapore's FAQ gives SMEs up to 50% and non-SMEs up to 30% as the general level, higher for internationalisation and sustainability. Its main EDGE page headlines higher figures, up to 70% and up to 50%, so confirm the rate on the activity page itself.

Claims open on 1 December for digital solutions and equipment, on a reimbursement basis. You pay the vendor first, then claim. Cash flow matters here more than it did with pre-approved PSG packages.

Does earlier PSG funding count against the new cap?

Enterprise Singapore says no. Grants used under EDG, MRA or PSG do not count against your EDGE cap. You still cannot claim the same project under both the old and new schemes.

What should you do now?

  1. Check whether you have a live PSG application. If so, stay on that file and watch the claim deadline in the letter.
  2. If you have not applied, read the EDGE page and find your activity. See the Enterprise Development Grant page for the full picture.
  3. Confirm 30% local ownership and the SME test with your own figures.
  4. Hold off on paying vendors until you have checked EDGE's own timing rules. We did not find an EDGE statement on this, so do not assume the old PSG rule is gone.
  5. Set up proper records. An accounting software choice and a payroll provider are the typical IT purchases for a new company.

How do you choose a digital solution under EDGE?

Start from the problem, not the product list. A grant pays a share of the cost, so a tool you do not use is still money out of your pocket. Ask three things before you shortlist a vendor.

First, does the solution fall under a supportable activity on the EDGE page, and under which business area? The activity page sets the rate and the documents. Second, is the vendor listed for the activity, or is it a custom quote that needs extra paperwork? Enterprise Singapore points to the IMDA SMEs Go Digital platform for digital activities, so look there for the current list. Third, who pays first? Because EDGE is reimbursement based, the full payment leaves your account before the claim is filed.

What mistakes should a small company avoid?

  • Paying before you read the rules. The old PSG barred vendor payments before the application. Do not assume EDGE is looser until Enterprise Singapore says so in writing.
  • Missing the claim date. An existing PSG project is claimed within the deadline in its Letter of Offer. A late claim can lose the money.
  • Splitting one project across schemes. The same project cannot be claimed under old and new schemes.
  • Ignoring ownership. The 30% local ownership test applies to the company, so check your share register before you pay a consultant to apply.
  • Trusting old blog posts. Many pages written before 29 September describe PSG as live. Look for the date and the EDGE mention.

Independent guide, not Enterprise Singapore or IMDA

Questions people ask

Is the PSG grant still available in Singapore?

No. Enterprise Singapore's PSG page says the scheme closed on 29 September and tells businesses to apply under the EDGE Grant from 30 September. Applications already submitted before that date continue to be processed.

What replaced the Productivity Solutions Grant?

The EDGE Grant, which merges PSG with the Enterprise Development Grant and Market Readiness Assistance. Digital activities, including single-function solutions and integrated enterprise systems, are covered through the IMDA SMEs Go Digital platform.

How much could PSG pay before it closed?

The closed PSG page showed support of up to 50% of eligible costs for local SMEs, with a maximum award of S$30,000. Those figures describe the old scheme only.

Can I still claim an approved PSG project?

Existing submissions and projects continue under their Letter of Offer. The old PSG page said claims had to be filed within the deadline in that letter. Read your own letter, and ask Enterprise Singapore if the date is close.

Do I need Corppass to apply for grants?

The old PSG process used Corppass to log in to the Business Grants Portal. EDGE applications also go through the Business Grants Portal. Your company needs Corppass access set up before you start.

Setting up the company first?

A Singapore entity comes before any grant. The set-up overview shows the order.
